This kind of review is a first for me. Since I have little to no experience on how to do a movie review, I just did whatever came naturally to me while watching the movie and recorded my thoughts on what was going on in list form. As is with everything else on this blog, it is most likely nonsensical. So don’t take anything too much to heart. Because I sure didn’t.

Church scene that didn’t make me sleepy
Stereotypical Christian hard-ass
Middle of movie intro credits, yay…
Apparently women don’t wander around the water
Cameraman really likes filming candy
Bars in Summerisle are rather bipolar
Outdoor sex, weird. Naked crying on tombstone, passable.
Not sure if sex equal death
Hardcore snail sex. Awesome.
Love the “tree on a grave” song
Phallic symbols in school. Great!
Police officer going Dredd
Dead? What’s that?
Snake jizz is a great defense
Breast feeding a baby in a graveyard is the natural way of things
Frog for the throat? These hippies are getting wacky.
Summerisle must’ve had the first social network for being able to know everyone
More mood killing music
And we’re rewarded with soft nudity
Old god is not dead. New god, probably dead.
Apparently pagan belief wasn’t obvious
Hares are sacrilegious
Breaking into an owl’s house
Females can’t garden in Summerisle
Naked chic knocks against wall. Clearly a siren.
And we go straight to children playing. Mood killer.
Summerisle was the earliest location for furry conventions
A bit of cat and mouse involving a cop an a cosplayer
Humans: pagan’s renewable energy
Now people are just dicking with this cop
Again with the food, cameraman?
Cop goes into espionage mode
Christopher Lee is a big meany pants
The furry parade goes on, and on…
Chop something already!
And the chop was a fake out.
And a run away scene, complete with some funky rock music
Apparently a Christian cop is a great pagan sacrifice
This sacrifice will work, because gods are never bipolar.
Christopher Lee’s hair keeps getting crazier throughout the movie
Even after all of this, the cop still thinks his god still cares for him
End result: anticlimactic end for the cop, odd explanation of how cop was tricked into coming to Summerisle, the story is kinda slow and repetitive (the girl isn’t here, she is here, yada yada yada) which is supposed to be substituted for by visuals that don’t do the job for me, and music that is either hit or miss or just out of place. Though the movie did hold my attention, it wouldn’t be a regular for me.
